Dear Friends,
As always, I hope this finds you well and enjoying the summer.
Over the last 18 months, we’ve all been riding the pandemic rollercoaster, checking in with each other to take each other’s pulse and hoping to find our colleagues still employed and thriving. Happily, for many of us, 2021 has brought an upward swoop, and so we decided to do a bit of a “year in review” and share some of our findings and observations with you. I’m happy (and relieved) to say that Bennett’s pulse is beating strongly.
What we’ve been seeing: our volume this year is almost on par with 2019—Q1 was a lot slower than Q1 of 2019, of course, but Q2 catapulted us up to our 2019 numbers. May was our busiest month and June and July have been very solid. In terms of top destinations, there are three contenders as highest volume has been split equally between relocations into the US, within the US (US domestic) and to EMEA. Several of our relocation management company partners have told us that they expect Q3 and Q4 to be the true “rebound” time, and we are eager to see how they unfold.
Of note: our initiations for children with special education needs are double those of pre-pandemic times, and we are not yet sure why; perhaps parents are more vocal about their children’s needs and/or perhaps our clients are being more assertive in supporting assignees with children with SEN? Or perhaps companies are moving fewer employees but investing more fully in those they do relocate? Whatever the reason, we’re happy to see that these kids are receiving the kind of professional assistance they need as they change schools—thank you.
We’ve also been reviewing our service evaluations and the feedback families send us and, at risk of bragging, we’re proud to say that we're getting straight A's from our clients--they're not only satisfied but consider us "excellent." We can’t help but share a few nice testimonials!
Wishing you well and looking forward to seeing many of you again in person, we hope, in the coming months.
Warmly,
Elizabeth
