The Little Engine That Could: Saint Gabriel’s School in Fontaine, Haiti.

St. Gabriel's School in Fontaine, Haiti has become a beacon for the community, providing food, water, light & energy from its solar panels, with a little help from its friends.

The school was founded 10 years ago by a Haitian who was sponsored to attend college in the US and returned home to open a high school where there had been none; so that kids would no longer have to walk two hours to get a high school education, like he did.

It's now home to 216 students and is one of the most respected schools in Haiti. Proof that a dream & hard work can pay off, it's an inspiration, thank you. We're happy to know them a little.

You can learn more about the beneficial effect the school has had over the years on the resilient community of Fontaine here.
